Below is a selection of case studies offering a brief overview of work K&H Medical have undertaken for various clients.

Case Study No. 1

Salisbury District Hospital, new £25m PFI

550 bed project completed in just over 2 years and opened September 2006.

New Medical gas services were installed to various departments including general wards, Plastic and Oral Maxillo-Facial Surgeries, Laser Treatment and Burns Unit.

The new services included Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, Medical Air 4 bar, Surgical Air 7 bar, Vacuum and AGSS.

Case Study No. 2

Central Middlesex Hospital, BECaD Building

A new build development block serving Theaters, Recovery, Ward areas, Treatment areas, Ultrasound, CT Scanner, Endoscopy, Paediatric Department, Resuscitation area, Major Assessment area, CCU, ITU, ACU Unit, MAC Unit, executive beds, step-down beds, rehab beds and Haematology Unit.

The piped services included Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, Air 4 and 7 bar, Vacuum, AGSS and alarm systems.

Case Study No. 3

Kings College Hospital Dental Unit

Major refurbishment of three floors of dental surgeries including medical gases and new Dental Vacuum systems from new Dental Vacuum main plant.

Case Study No. 4

Royal London Dental Unit

Included major upgrade of the Dental Compressed Air plant and Air riser pipework system.

Case Study No. 5

Castle Hill Cardiac Unit, Hull

This is also a new build PFI project including Theatres, Recovery and ward areas.

New piping systems include Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, Air 4 bar, Air 7 bar, Vacuum, AGSS and alarm systems.

Case Study No. 6

Kings College Hospital

Numerous major ward and department upgrades and refurbishment works including New Day Theaters and special piped gases to laboratories.

Also the Golden Jubilee Wing which was a major PFI project completed in 2002 and included new services including Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, Medical Air 4 bar, Surgical Air 7 bar, Vacuum and AGSS.

The laboratory gases included CO2, Nitrogen, Compressed Air, Hydrogen and Oxygen.

Case Study No. 7

Barkantine Treatment Center

This is a new build development in London and includes new plant and pipework services for Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, Medical Air 4 bar, Dental Air 7 bar, Vacuum, AGSS and alarm systems.

Case Study No. 8

Castle Hill Oncology Unit, Hull

This is a new build PFI project started November 2006 and includes Oxygen, instrument Compressed Air, Vacuum and alarm systems.

Case Study No. 9

Kings College Hospital CCIB Building

(Centre for Cell and Integrative Biology)

Included special gases installation to a new build project and included special piped gases to the laboratory areas and included Oxygen, Nitrogen, Carbon Dioxide and two mixed gas distribution services together with autochange manifold supplies and alarm system.

Case Study No. 10

St. George’s Hospital, Ilford

This was a new build PFI project consisting of Theaters, Recovery and Ward areas and included Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, Air 4 bar, Air 7 bar, Vacuum, AGSS and alarm systems.

Oxygen and Nitrous Oxide were connected to the Hospital supplies and new dedicated Compressed Air and Vacuum plants were installed.

Case Study No. 11

John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford

Upgraded Projects

K&H Medical installed the new gas systems in the A&E department including O2, N2O, ENT, MA4, VAC and AGSS.

The Neo Natal New Organisation included the installation of O2, MA4 and VAC.
